Veterans of Foreign Wars Political Action Committee Endorses Moran
Jerry Moran Recognized For His Commitment To Veterans and National Security Issues
OVERLAND PARK, KS- Today, Congressman Jerry Moran announced that he has been endorsed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Political Action Committee (VFW-PAC), the nonpartisan political organization of the VFW.
This endorsement signifies Jerry Moran’s strong support of our veterans and military community. He qualified for this endorsement because of his consistent voting record of supporting top national security and veterans issues. Congressman Moran is a senior member of the House of Representatives Veterans Affairs Committee. He frequently meets with the Kansas military and veteran community to solicit input on veterans’ and active duty personnel issues pending before Congress.
Jerry Moran has helped increase veterans access to health care, working hard to establish a Veteran Center in Manhattan, five VA Outpatient Clinics across Kansas, and a sixth to-be-built clinic in Johnson County. He also introduced the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act preventing veterans from having their 2nd amendment rights arbitrarily stripped. This legislation was recently approved in committee as an amendment to a veteran benefits measure. Moran is also also an outspoken advocate for the Honor Flight Program along with former Sen. Bob Dole, making it possible for veterans to see the WWII Memorial.
Congressman Moran stated, “I am honored to have the endorsement from the VFW-PAC. Kansas’ military community and their families have long been a top priority. Our veterans have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and I look forward to making veterans, military and national security issues a top priority in the Senate.”
The VFW-PAC is dedicated to the support of candidates who have taken responsible positions on issues involving national defense and legislation pertaining to our nation’s veterans. They were established to promote and facilitate voluntary contributions from employees and members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and its subordinate units for the support of various candidates for election to federal office in the United States.
This endorsement comes in addition to a Veterans for Moran coalition with hundreds of members across the state. Jerry Moran has proudly represented Kansas’ Big 1st District since 1997. He’s one of only 17 of 435 members of Congress to vote against every Washington bailout and stimulus program. Known for actively meeting with and listening to Kansans, Jerry has held over 900 town halls since joining Congress.
