Kansas First District Congressman and U.S. Senate Candidate Jerry Moran (R-Hays) launched the first in a series of statewide radio ads today highlighting his fiscally conservative credentials.
The ad introduces Moran to Kansans and highlights his fight against the Washington takeover of the nation’s healthcare system, as well as his strong opposition to wasteful bailouts and earmark spending. The ad also highlights Moran’s connections to the state and the fact that he calls Kansas, not Washington, home.
This ad will be the first in a series of radio spots that focus on Moran’s stand on the issues and his reasons for running for the U.S. Senate. The series will air over the coming weeks.
Moran is the leading conservative candidate in the U.S. Senate race in Kansas to succeed Sam Brownback, who is retiring. He was one of the first Members of Congress to sign the “Repeal It!” pledge to rescind any enacted legislation directing a government takeover of our nation’s health care system. Moran was one of only 17 GOP Members of Congress to vote against every bailout, “cash for clunkers” and stimulus package. He supports the Congressional Accountability Act to end wasteful earmarks. Moran has a 96 percent rating from the conservative Club for Growth and is 100 percent rated on pro-life, pro-family issues by the Family Research Council.
Moran has endorsements from seven current U.S. Senators and Representatives: Sens. Richard Burr (R-NC), Tom Coburn (R-OK), Jim DeMint (R-SC), Mike Johanns (R-NE), John McCain (R-AZ), and John Thune (R-SD, as well as Rep. Jeff Flake (R-AZ). In addition, former U.S. Sen. Jim Talent (R-MO) and former U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO) also endorse Moran’s candidacy.
