Kansas REALTORS Endorse Jerry Moran
Leading Business Group Throws Support to Proven Fiscal Conservative
Overland Park, KS – Today, Congressman Jerry Moran received the endorsement of the REALTORS® Political Action Committee in his bid for the U.S. Senate. The REALTORS® PAC is affiliated with the Kansas Association of REALTORS®, the state’s largest professional trade association representing over 8,000 members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries and dedicated to advocating on behalf of property owners and the small business community.
“Jerry Moran is the right man to represent Kansas in the U.S. Senate and we are proud to endorse him,” said Kansas Association of REALTORS® President Brian Jones, owner of Jones Heritage REALTORS® in Pittsburg, Kansas. “Jerry’s strong record of championing lower taxes and pro-growth policies that help our economic development is exactly what REALTORS® and businesspeople in Kansas need to strengthen the economy and the housing market. We look forward to helping ensure that Jerry is Kansas’ next U.S. Senator.”
“I’m honored to receive the support and help of the REALTORS® PAC,” said Congressman Jerry Moran. “Kansas’ hardworking REALTORS® and small business professionals need a break from Washington’s constant urge to raise taxes, raise spending and raise our debt, and I look forward to continue working to create an environment where Kansans can afford a home.”
Jerry has a proven fiscal record on behalf of Kansas businesses. He’s been a consistent conservative vote against the growth of government, voted for lower taxes over 200 times in Congress, introduced the Small Business Jobs and Tax Relief Act, and has always been a strong proponent for Kansas’ small business community.
This is the latest endorsement of Jerry Moran’s campaign to reform Washington’s spending problem with commonsense Kansas principles. He was recently endorsed by the Kansas Farm Bureau, over 50 local 2nd District elected officials, and has the endorsement of leading conservatives like Sen. Jim DeMint, Sen. John Thune and Sen. Tom Coburn.
Jerry is the leading candidate to become Kansas’ next U.S. Senator. According to the public and independent Survey USA poll released this morning, Jerry has surged to a 23-point lead statewide over his opponent, 52-29. This is consistent with other recent polls including a Public Opinion Strategies poll last week showing Jerry with a 26-point lead, 53-27. Jerry also has a significant resource advantage, with a near $2 million cash-on-hand advantage.
Jerry has proudly represented Kansas’ Big 1st District since 1997, traveling back every weekend to his home in Hays where he lives with his family. He’s one of only 17 of 435 members of Congress to vote against every Washington bailout and stimulus program. Known for actively meeting with and listening to Kansans, Jerry has held nearly 900 townhalls since joining Congress.
